1. Plans and billing
Mermaid Studio offers Basic at $0, Starter at $10 per month or $96 per year, and Pro at $20 per month or $192 per year, where those plans are available at checkout. Annual plans are charged upfront for the selected annual period. The checkout page shows the applicable currency, total price, taxes, billing interval, and renewal terms before payment.
Paid plans renew automatically for the same billing interval unless canceled before the next renewal. Polar, as the payment and Merchant of Record provider where enabled, may issue the applicable receipt or invoice and administer payment and tax information.
2. Cancellation
You may cancel a paid subscription through the Polar customer portal or by contacting [email protected]. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period: the next renewal is stopped, and paid features remain available until the current period ends. Canceling a subscription does not by itself create a refund for the current period.
We may suspend or immediately revoke access for fraud, chargeback abuse, unlawful use, or a serious violation of the Terms of service. We may also provide an immediate cancellation option where required by applicable law or requested by the customer.
3. Voluntary refunds
For the first paid subscription charge, you may request a full refund within 14 days of the initial purchase. For renewal charges, refunds are generally limited to duplicate charges, billing errors, a material service failure, or another exception approved by support. We may consider a pro-rata refund when a paid feature is unavailable for a material part of the billing period.
Refund requests should include the account email, transaction or invoice reference, and a short explanation. Approved refunds are processed through the original payment provider. Processing time depends on the payment provider and the customer's bank. A refund does not automatically cancel a subscription; request cancellation separately or use the Polar customer portal.
4. Statutory consumer rights
This policy does not limit mandatory consumer rights in the country where you live. Where a law provides a withdrawal, cancellation, refund, repair, or other remedy, that remedy applies even if it is more favorable than this voluntary policy.
For digital services that begin immediately, we will request any express consent and acknowledgment required by applicable law. If a statutory withdrawal exception applies after the service begins, it will be applied only to the extent permitted by that law.
5. Taxes and disputes
Applicable taxes are shown at checkout or on the receipt where required. Polar and its payment providers may handle transaction taxes and tax documentation for the transactions they process. Questions about a charge should first be raised with support or through the payment portal. Nothing in this policy prevents a customer from contacting their card issuer or exercising a non-waivable legal right.
